Safar Kub TukFrom her short excursions on an elephant and in a "Palki" on the shoulders of four "kahars" in the early 1930s, Begum Sultana Zakir Ada takes the readers through time, cultures and many cities and countries, on ox-carts, trains, tongas, Dakota airplanes, and then moving on to Jumbo jets. Begum Ada beautifully presents her observations from these travels in a 59-page Pase' Manzar on her early life in the state of Rampur in pre-partition British-occupied India, followed by forty chapters, and supports them with her keen analysis of many a people and their worlds - Muslims, Hindus, and Christians in India, Pakistan, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. Begum Sultana Zakir Ada makes these observations at greatly conflicting times and locales, at places that are holy -- Mekkah Moazzama and Medinah Munawara -- and then in cities that are absolutely not, such as Las Vegas. This book is about an adventure of a lifetime, definitely destined to be a classic.
